OVERVIEW:
 
The Application and System Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, maintenance, and support of enterprise applications and IT systems. This role ensures all critical business applications and system platforms function efficiently, securely, and align with organizational goals. The manager also leads a team of analysts, developers, and system administrators while working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT leadership.
 

Responsibilities

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Lead the implementation, integration, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, POS, LMS, HRIS, CRM, etc.)
- Oversee and support core infrastructure systems such as Active Directory, Windows/Linux servers, databases, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Manage system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning to ensure optimal performance and exceptional uptime.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for application support, licensing, and service agreements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, system audits, and ensure compliance with IT security and data privacy policies.
- Collaborate with department leaders to assess application needs and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.
- Lead or participate in large-scale projects, including system migrations, software upgrades, and cloud transitions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, disaster recovery plans, and technical documentation, especially in cloud computing.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to application/system support team members and other IT teams.
- Monitor SLAs and ensure timely resolution of support tickets and system issues following standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Track application and system performance metrics and report to IT leadership.
- Provide excellent verbal and written communications to stakeholders and C-Management.
 

Qualifications

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis)
 
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is required.
- Project management skills are a definite asset.
- Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Must hold a TRIBAL GAMING LICENSE or can obtain one.
- Knowledge, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations about technology standard requirements.
- Work schedule flexibility to be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts, with the understanding that days off will fluctuate.
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
 
- Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Office, Windows Desktop Operating Systems, MS Outlook & PC hardware configuration skills.
- Working technical knowledge of current gaming/non-gaming applications, system platforms, operating systems, and standard requirements.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the IT industry with four or more years managing technology for hotels or gaming resorts, with an emphasis on systems design, integration, and telecommunications, to include data/voice transmission utilizing fiber optic, radiofrequency, and cellular communications.
- Managerial experience of at least three years of proven leadership ability is preferred. Must possess successful project management skills.
- A wide range of hardware and software knowledge in Gaming systems and Hospitality systems is highly preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced, and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors, including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and constant exposure to the general public. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to the position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
