Overview

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing technical and organizational support for all Database Marketing efforts including but not limited to the gathering data and providing actionable insights to help guide strategic decisions, the creation and execution of queries to extract data for direct marketing programs and the preparation of data for direct marketing vendors.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Accurately create and modify existing database queries to extract data for direct marketing programs.
- Manipulate and sort lists in preparation for direct marketing vendors.
- Create, manage, and distribute direct marketing reports.
- Reconcile data across multiple databases to ensure accuracy in reporting and direct marketing lists.
- Research and recommend effective direct marketing approaches.
- Supports all operational department needs, helping to identify and implement process improvements.
- Serves as a training resource on analytic programming tools and methods.
- Coordinate system testing with IT and Shared Services.
- Investigates and solves data quality issues.
- Prepares ad-hoc analysis upon request.
- Maintains professional relations with vendors and guests.
- Attend and participate in off property functions and events as assigned.
- Attend and participate in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the operation.  Proactively identifies issues and concerns to management.
- Monitors daily operations of Database Department. Direct reports include Marketing Analyst and Direct Marketing Specialist.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
 
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position and a Bachelor’s in Business, Advertising or Marketing or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
 
KNOWLEDGE OF:
 
- Must be possess basic mathematical skills
- Expert knowledge of Excel including Pivot Tables and Vlookups
- Proven ability to write database extract queries using SQL
- Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience
- Excellent communication skills, judgment, high moral integrity and strong work ethic
- Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals
- Strong organizational, planning, public and interpersonal relations skills
- Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
- Tactful problem-solving abilities and work schedule flexibility required
 
ABILITY TO:
 
- The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and constant exposure to general public. 
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
- Routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
- Forecast changes in the economic climate and/or profits and react accordingly.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Analyze marketing and promotions data.

- Participate in the development and administration of goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports.

- Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
- This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
 

Additional Details

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc):

 

  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Prior experience in the Gaming industry strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Tribal Gaming preferred.
